Thank you Andrew for the feed back, it's really helped me. As you suggested I've spent a little more time bulking out his figure. There are still quite a fue tweaks to be made (Which include adding more detailed muscle, fixing feet, inside mouth, ear detail, eye reflections, nose highlights, hair grooming, UV and texture tweaks and so on!), but I think he's looking better. Anyway I just wanted to get some feed back on this fur I've been adding today... He's making more sense to me now he has fur, and in fact it's made it easier to play around with the underling muscles. I've used a HDRI map with the hair texture, which is helping to bring out highlights and depth. Render times are around 7-9 seconds, so not to bad.
